Ewa Haas-Stark: The New Face of Reinvention
“Power Looks Like This – Ewa Haas-Stark"
From immigrant to publisher – how one woman reinvented herself and now inspires a generation.
At 50-plus, Ewa Haas-Stark lives a life defined by elegance, strength, and purpose. Born in Poland and now based in Germany, she built everything on her own – with vision, resilience, and grace. As the founder and publisher of EWA’S PLACE, a magazine celebrating empowered women over 50, she challenges outdated ideals and redefines what it means to age with style. In this conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, Ewa opens up about new beginnings, beauty beyond youth, and the upcoming TV portrait that tells her extraordinary story.
Harper’s Bazaar: Ewa, you were born in Poland and built your life from the ground up in Germany. Tell us how it all began.

Ewa Haas-Stark: “I arrived in Germany over 20 years ago with a suitcase full of dreams and no plan B. No safety net, no support system – just a strong belief that I could create something of my own. The journey was anything but easy, but every step shaped me. Today, I can proudly say: I built it all by myself.”
Bazaar: That takes courage. Where does your strength come from?
Ewa: “When you start over in a foreign country, you face a choice: to shrink or to grow. I chose to grow. My strength came from within, and from a deep desire to show other women that it’s never too late. Your past doesn’t define you – your vision does.”
Bazaar: You founded EWA’S PLACE, a magazine for women 50+. What makes it different?

Ewa: “EWA’S PLACE is more than a magazine – it’s a platform for real stories and real women. We don’t chase trends or superficial ideals. We celebrate depth, authenticity, elegance, and maturity. My goal is to give voice to women over 50 who are vibrant, powerful, and full of life – even if society tends to overlook them.”
Bazaar: Your story is also going to be featured in an upcoming TV portrait. Can you tell us more?

Ewa: “Yes, I’m very excited about that. It’s a deeply personal look at my journey – from my roots in Poland, starting from scratch in Germany, to becoming a publisher. I hope it inspires women to see aging not as an ending, but as a new beginning. There’s so much life and possibility waiting for us – at every age.”
Bazaar: You’re known for your distinctive style. What does fashion mean to you?

Ewa: “Fashion, to me, is self-expression. I’ve always loved luxurious fabrics, clean lines, and a bit of understated glamour. But true style goes far beyond clothing – it’s how you carry yourself, how you walk into a room. Style starts in the mind.”
Bazaar: What message would you give to women reading this?
Ewa: “Don’t let your age define your limits. Every chapter of your life is yours to write. Be bold, be unapologetically yourself, and never stop evolving. I always say: Be the woman your younger self would look up to.”
